LARC will be participating in the 2007 Special Event to commemorate the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald. We will be operating at the Dossin Great Lakes Ship Museum on Belle Isle from 1500 UTC – 2000 UTC on Saturday, November 3, 2007. (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM local time) We hope to have three HF stations set up. This will give us the possibility of two SSB and one CW station. Our plan is to operate in the 10, 15, 20, 40, and 80 meter bands as conditions permit. Operation will then continue throughout Sunday on the HF bands as well as 2 meters.

The LARC newsletter is coming back! Watch for the new and improved edition to be called the LARC REPEATER We hope to start with Volume 1, Issue 1 in September. John Dellinger has offered to take the position of Editor and Chief for the new LARC REPEATER newsletter. It will be all delivered via email to all members.

Our new "Members Only" area hosted by Yahoo Groups is up and running. The LARC group at Yahoo is open to all current members of the Livonia Amateur Radio Club. However, you will need to sign up for a Yahoo account if you do not already have one. There is no charge to set up a Yahoo account. So, if you are a member of the LARC stop by and join the group.
